Flying with the Inogen System
On the way to the Airport
Be sure to allow plenty of time to be at the airport at least 2 hours before your boarding time. The Inogen is an electrical machine that needs power to operate. Maximizing you battery time is key to a successful journey. By utilizing the Mobile Travel Adapters, you can plug the Inogen into a cigarette outlet to use the machine and/or charge any batteries on the way to the airport.
At the Airport
When going through security, the TSA will “Swab” the unit while you are using the machine. If you are not using the machine, they will ask you to place it in the x-ray machine, which will NOT affect the Inogen. After going through security, proceed to your gate to wait for boarding. Remeber there are electrical outlets in the boarding area, in case you need to plug the Inogen in for use or to charge any batteries.
During Flight
Special Needs passengers get priority boarding. Once seated, place the Inogen under the seat in front of you. It is OK for the Inogen to operate on its side during flight. Be sure to follow the Flight Attendants instructions, and note your emergency exits.
